To the Pure, All Things are Pure!

Updated: Jul 21

It seems an inescapable reality that goodness is expressed in one profound way; and that evil is expressed in its antithesis.

Listen:

To the pure, all things are pure; but to the corrupt and unbelieving, nothing is pure; both their minds and their consciences are corrupted. (Titus 1:15)

What does it mean, ‘to the pure, all things are pure?’ — And how could a human being possibly see purity in all things?

The essence and root of all evil is to believe you know good from evil, and by your own self evaluation deem yourself as good; thereby justifying yourself according to your own actions! The reason this would be defined as the epitome of evil is that it is the root of all hypocrisy and the judgment of others, believing yourself better than others. Operating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, in ‘self’ justification, is a belief system called death, wherein everyone who sees things different than you are labeled by you as evil. This is why Paul would say, ‘to the corrupt and unbelieving, nothing is pure’. This faithless system of thinking is at the root of all the enmity, warring and death we see in the world. But to the pure, all things are pure! Somehow Jesus saw us in the midst of this death; wherein nothing seemed pure to us, and He came to us. He saw us as his beloved sons and daughters, only needing life. And because Jesus has the essense of true life abiding in Himself, His deepest desire was to share that life with His Children. So Jesus died at the hands of the very system of sin and death that was killing us, for our benefit. He loved us, though we had all gone out of the way. Jesus saw us as pure, though our own minds and consciences condemned us and everyone around us! He justified us in the midst of our weaknesses and sins, even despite them. For he saw us as pure and undefiled. Then God, pleased with the mind that was in His Son (because they were of one mind), raised him from the dead, with healing in his wings. And now He says to all of humanity: “Believe the testimony of my Son towards you, His unfathonable love for you. Receive his eternal life. Then the love he holds for you, in spite of all human weakness and sin, will be in you!” Believe this and and you will find yourself fully justified. Not according to your own knowledge of good and evil, but by God himself! For He is just, and the justifier of those who believe in Him! This is where you begin to share the same Spirit that was in Him; never judging, but rather seeing the goodness in others and their value to God! You will begin seeking to Justify those around you, rather than pointing to their flaws as the hypocrites do; only seeking the best for everyone around you. - But not by your own means or power! Then, you too, will actually begin seeing purity, instead of evil, in all things! Mo
